Lila D is Valeria's solo project, taking some time from her usual Signal Deluxe & Guajira projects, she explores deeper territory and experiments with sound on her own and also joining her for some beautiful arrangements is Hector Page one of Mexico's guitar legends


2 original tracks "venus interface" featuring page is a beautiful trip with Valeria and Page translating his guitar skills into beautiful sensual electronics.


"Wildflowerlink" is the second original cut here and this is a minimalistic funky affair for those who like things synthetic.


Venus Interface gets remixed by some close friends of the Blaq family and favorites of valeria's


Omar Salgado drops the first remix here and his take on the original is majestic!!! we love his style and is BIG TIME!! for Blaq records to have an artist of his caliber in our lines.


Milos Fedor, Bratislava's own bad boy gives the original a kick and notches it up with some chunks of love courtesy of the fantastic Leporelo label.


FM is Blaq Records truly underground renegades, keeping it real and bringing their sound once again via Blaq....


Ocelli is another member of the Blaq family, we had his debut with us a few months ago and his remix has his trademark sound all over it, exactly what we wanted.

Soundspace - Sweet Madness EP

Ivan Lopez co-owner and founder of Blaq Records puts out his first release of 2010 under his project soundspace

Noah Pred has been a good friend of the label for a while now, he is a true underground artist we really admire

he has been releasing constantly getting support from all kinds of djs, his style is one to be recognized for it's attitude funk and energetic flavor.

haze is a new fresh artist to join the blaq records comuntiy, living in mexico city, miguel is a very young producer doing his first productions for our dear friends from dialtone we are lucky to capture his second output and bring it to you.
his sound has a very nice edge to it, with lots of atittude and with a style of his own. still naive in many ways but we love this raw element of emotion in his songs, we have been playing this songs and we really like them a lot.
we are very happy to be able to release music from such fresh and young new talents. u can only imagine if this is one of his first releases what this kid will acomplish in the years to come!!

andres rivero is the creative mind behind Ndi. we released Ndi's first full lenght effort here in blaq records last year. it was also the first full album from one artists that we released and we just love his music, andres is a super nice down to earth mellow guy and his music is just beautiful!.hard to describe and to categorize into one style or genre.


his new album called "tierra" shows a more mature songwriting and he brings a lot of elements to the plate, mixing old school sensibilities with a new school aproach to sound. seven tracks make this full lenght album and it goes from spaced out soundscapades for chilled home listening to some dark gems for the after hour affairs as well as some more clubby dancefloor oriented jams always with a unique aproach to contemporary techno / house beats.






his basslines are filled with groove and his drum programming blends the thin lines between styles going from more breakbeat oriented grooves to more sofisticated 4 to the floor patterns, we are trully proud to have andres as one of our artists.

Ocelli - Fuga EP [BLAQ028]

Review:



ocelli is 50% of penny pistos, blaq records recording artists. we know sharon and chato (ocelli) for a long time and we have always been real big fans of their sound, definitely 2 of our favourite producers in mexico also our super dear friends!


for these ep ocelli really shows a mature and profund display of sound, using a lot of organic sounds mixed with synthetic orchestration he acomplishes to make this a hi-tech digital extravaganza, we have been playing all 4 songs on this ep and we are really in love with ocelli's work and we feel this is one release that really shows the kind of style we like when it comes to deeper twisted dark beats. 4 tracks of deep and intricate design.


"la creacion" is the first cut here, a creation of minimalistic structures and obscure traces, built around a simple bouncing groove this is a prefect rythmic tool to keep things flowing evenly, creatures screeching in the back, many tones of gray paint this dark picture, the melody is sublime and sudden, sweet synthetics, delicious plasticity.

"fuga de cerebros" goes straight to the point, futuristic dance music forward thinking groovenology intricate melodies and rythmic structures fuse in one delicious dub tech ride, with a twisted touch of nylon strings lurking along.


the 3rd track here "los mandamientos" new models of synthesis are printed in this gluey toxic beat, distilled with silicon and assambled in ocelli's dark laboratory this is for those who like to take things some notches more into introspective dance land


to close this dope ep ocelli brings us "la casa de los gritos" a future funk interstelar ride into new dimensions a blend of old school sensibilities with a total new school style. the elements here are synthetic as well.
