“Deep Train Vol. 4 – Round Trip”
Is the follow up to a very exceptional and successful compilation series. Jean F. Cochois aka The Timewriter is one of the most respected DJs and producer in his genre for more than 10 years. And he is an artist with high demands.
You could already hear this on his remixes for acts like Mike Oldfield, Faithless, Yello, Boy George, Frankie Knuckles or Rammstein, but above all, on his recently released fourth artist album “Paintbox”. “Round Trip” is the subtitle of the new CD and it´s the motto as well . Jean F. Cochois has arranged the 16 compiled tracks with a subtile dramaturgy.
He succeeded in realising the daring feat of combining progressive, danceable tracks with relaxed, warm-hearted, atmospheric grooves. With his unmistakeable intention, he is uniting tracks with different colours to an expressive ensemble – diversified with a proper portion of dynamic and homogenous in a perfect way at the same time.
So you can find outstanding artists such as Ananda Project, Sean Dimitri & Tim Fuller, Johne Dahlback, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Kevin Sunray, Bar BQ, Budai & Vic, Discouraged Ones, Gabo, Muzzaik, Chris Udoh, Dousk, Justin Martin, The Timewriter himself, with an up to now unreleased track and Trentemoeller, offering a great finish with his minimal-atmospheric “The Forest”. Mary Joe, whose vocals could already be heard on “Booty Song”, is accompanying the listener with her spoken words through selected sites in this mix and gives an absolute distinctive blend to this compilation. “Round Trip” is more than a simple compilation of unique tracks – this selection is splashing pure passion and love to music.

Profile: Jean Frank Cochois aka The Timewriter was born into a family where music played a vital part in everyday life. From the age of 13 on, he got trained in classical music and was sent to a music boarding school. Soon he started experimenting with electronic music while also including acoustic instruments. After several band memberships and three theatre music projects, Frank produced his first Album ‚The Timerewinder‘ in 1994. The LP got released under his alias JFC on Mole Listening Pearls not before 1997 though. It was Tom Wax who introduced Frank Cochois to the upcoming label Plastic City in 1995. Next to Terry Lee Brown Jr., The Timewriter would become THE most influential arist in the development of Plastic City as one of the major outlets for TechHouse in Germany and beyond. His albums and mix-compilations have gained The Timewriter an excellent international reputation. Fans and experts alike also agree on his more downbeat-oriented project JFC with releases on Elektrolux a.o. In 2004, Frank holds a monthly DJ residency at Sven Väth's state-of-the-art Cocoonclub in Frankfurt.
