Nobody tolerate more the eighties revival , right? More or less.
The great problem is when the emulation of sounds of the past
becomes an overdose, pasteurizing the own formula. Happily,
this is not the case of Júnior Boys, that rescues some good
moments of the eighties without appealing for the easiness. The main reference that she come to mind to the first
audition of "Only This Is Goodbye" is the tecnopop
and the synth-pop of groups as ABC, Human League,
Depeche Mode and the Flock of Seagulls and even
Eurythmics. Formed by the Canadians Jeremy Greenspan
and Johnny Dark, Júnior Boys inaugurated in disk in the idos
of 2004 with "Last Exit" a singles collection thrown previously
and they conquered the independent ways quickly.
For this second disk, the "band" counts on a sound engineer.
Matthew Didemus. substituting Johnny Dark - but maintaining
the class and the style typical of a more concerned generation
with the confluence of this everything with the music,
that with the image generated starting from these elements.
Of the opening strip, "Double Shadow" to the closing with "FM",
the one that we see is a concerned couple in sounding pop, but without
losing his electronic side synthesized for the good. This concern is
clear starting from the moment in that we divided the disk in two
different half. The first, emulating the eighties sound, and Monday
updating him and approximating him much more of the
parents of the matter Kraftwerk, transforming Júnior Boys in a
type of best of of the electronic sounds of all of the times.
Júnior Boys' synthesized sounds. that per times seem to
sound organic, such it is the cleaning and vivacity of his work.
they are enough to remember that nor only of music for the tracks
lives the electronics. He/she separates garlics of gallnuts.
A series of artists exists using the synthesizer and
mixing everything in concerned computers in using the electronics
in the music, and no the electronic music. In spite of seeming
simplistic, this reasoning makes sense, still more when
we worked daily and directly with a generation that
prefers to simplify everything and to label for the evil.
Thinking well, maybe it is always good to emulate the sounds
of the past, if it goes on behalf of the good musical education,
as they make Júnior Boys.

Purobeach volumen dos
We’ve struggled bravely to get up before midday.
The sun tut tuts around the edge of the curtains and our conscious
but we’re on holiday. PuroBeach beckons, the only beach club on the beautiful
azure curve that is Palma Bay. The sun races silver across the gentle waves,
the breeze has the palms chattering. A few of the white and gold sun
loungers surrounding the pool are already occupied. Probably the morning’s
fit yoga crowd taking some more time out or a visitor to the spa just chilling.
But no matter, as guests at PuroBeach’s sister hotel, Puro Oasis Urbano we are VIP’d and assured of prime positioning. Minor celeb status has already been achieved on arrival by the hotel’s Hummer shuttle.
The hotel is a luxurious and laid-back mix of interiors
– bohemian Bali meets rustic Rajasthan.
Acres of white surround shaded courtyards; a respite from the bustle
of the old town outside. Personalised touches from owner Mats
Wahlström’s extensive travels abound. Detailed woodcarvings and
hand worked silver. Embroidered silk and velvet cushions.
Clouds of white feathers.
Acres of cooling dark slate in the spa-like bathrooms.
PuroBeach, a few minutes across town, is an extension of this mood.
A sanctuary of calm on a small promontory, surrounded on three
sides by the lapping Med. The ice tinkles in your glass as you look out
through the organza curtains that shimmy at the edge of the Art Deco lounge.
Across the white decking, beauties take the chance to eye up the
competition behind the shade of their Tom Ford’s. A splash at the pool, the
water laps up at the smooth pebbled edge. Energised at the bar and relaxed at the spa we are all the while
cocooned by the comforting, soothing sounds
mixed by resident DJ, Fabian. First name terms?
– it’s that sort of place. With a wide-ranging array
of talented visiting DJ’s, the dance scene is never far
off and as the sun sets, the tempo lifts. Another glamorous crowd

here are the covers from BARGROOVES --> AZURE & CITRUS
once again with: Bargrooves " Citrus "

“Citrus”, like its definition, is ripe, fresh and juicy.

Oozing with some of the finest cuts from some of the world’s leading players
in soulful house, Latin-infused rhythms and spiritually-kissed garage.
Soul aviator, and captain of the ship, Ben Sowton is behind the first disc
that features an aural wall of languid beats, ethereal vocals and smooth
musicianship, typified by the multi-talented Ross Couch on the lush and
dreamy “Across the World”, setting a tempo that rarely fluctuates until
the closing refrains of Kerri Chandler’s rich keyboard flourishes and firmly
muscular bassline on “So Let The Wind Come”. --Ben’s sound is typically
inspired by his peers – MAW, Blaze and Jazzanova – with a mixture
of feel-good dance-influences and jazzy flavours underpinning
the foundations of his mix.
Less-is-more with warm strings, soothing vocals, guitar-riffs
and brass-stabs that are as contemporary as they are timeless,
with “Cuban Blues” typical of these ingredients; its enveloping sound
sucking you further-and-further in with each successive looped bar.
Like his contemporaries this is a musician-lead mix with an equally
strong selection of vocalists plying their trade throughout. --The tempo ups a
notch on Matthias Heilbronn’s disc, which opens with Âme’s acclaimed mix
of Roy Ayers’ and sets a tone to a more abstract journey.
His love of warm danceable grooves, with a strong and sometimes
leftfield-edge that reflects not only his DJ style, but also the
very essence of this collection.
Now well into his second decade as a DJ and producer, Matty’s
style of mixing is uncomplicated yet still slick, allowing the music
to speak greater volumes than the DJ’s skills. A true quicksilver
talent he’s created a mixture of pizzazz and pathos that swings to a soulfully
sophisticated pendulum. From stark house sounds of Rodamaal’s cult
underground classic-in-the-making “Insomnia” to Bobby D’Ambrosio’s
equally anthemic remake of “Runaway Love”. Edgy in parts, deeper in others,
