infos about:

HAKAN LIDBO feat EMMA "WHAT IS LOVE" VOL.1
(re-release)

1- Raph Dumas & José Barrachina remix
This version from Dumas and Barrachina is perfect for deep and soulful audiences. Spirited keys,a funked out bass and live guitar theatrics work wonders on this mix.

2- Brice Bertran Soulful remix
Brice Bertran’s soulful version will suit backrooms and versatile record spinners. Beautiful midtempo grooves are created by sparkling keys, fat beats and a succulent bass-line.

3- Manuel Perez remix
Manuel Perez takes Håkan and Emma onto deep and techier floors with a cool key driven mix. Firing beats, reliable synths and Emma’s sweet vocals meet behind those magical keys on Perez‘s cool mix.

4- Original version
Håkan Lidbo and Emma’s stunning cover of What Is Love is an outstanding midterm effort. Emma questions the nature of amorous attraction over grooving guitars and polite beats on this blissful track.

HAKAN LIDBO feat EMMA "WHAT IS LOVE" VOL.2 (new versions)

1- Martin Brodin remix
Deeplay boss Brodin supplies a dark take on What Is Love for big room floors. Moody synths, hefty stabs and a swirling bassline sit behind Emma’s questioning vocals on this anthemic remix.

2- Killersounds remix
Under his Killersounds guise, Brice Bertran drops a cool new midtempo take for bars and funked up floors. The beats move along nicely, the synths provide the groove and cool keys add an extra dimension.

3- Brice Bertran afrosoul remix
Under his real name, Bertran offers a layered percussive mission for deeper house floors. Emma’s gorgeous vocals show the power of affection over effortless keys and steady percussion on Brice‘s second revision.

4- José Barrachina bossa unplugged
José Barrachina takes the track to a completely different dimension, with his sweet Bossa Unplugged version. Barrachina lays an understanding acoustic guitar under Emma’s loving vocals on a mix that is perfect for quieter moments.

Jay West 'Call The Boss'

Lost My Dog - LMD028

Lost My Dog’s first release of 2010 is all about THE FUNK, and what better man to step up than Jay West, one of the finest purveyors of funk-laden grooves in the underground house arena. Argentinean Jay is a busy guy, with a constant worldwide tour schedule and a prolific release rate for his own labels Candy Music and Flavor, as well as on a string of worldwide imprints. Four more funktastic remixes are provided by Neighbour, Peckos, Junia Ovadose and Roland Nights.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2005 Jay West has gone on to release his trademark and hugely popular sound for leading labels in the deep house genre such as Drop Music, So Sound, Blockhead and Conya. Jay first worked with Lost My Dog back in 2006 and his ‘Carillon Jamz EP’, which also featured a remix from Greenskeepers, is still one of the label’s most sought after 12”’s. He is also involved in a production partnership with Christian Malloni as The Candy Dealers.

The enigmatic Neighbour (aka Canadian Matt Dauncey) is currently one of the most sought after producers around, both for his super-funked house sound and his more eclectic projects. The “Neighbour sound” has become a well used phrase and is testament to his unique approach. Recent successes have appeared on Kolour Recordings, Super HiFi, Alphabet Music and his own Home Breakin. Neighbour is equally well known for his show stealing DJ sets, which feature live synths, electric guitar and Matt’s inimitable stage presence (some people say that dance music isn't as fun as it used to be; then again, some people haven't seen a grown man in a unitard shoot lazers out of his guitar far into the night sky). Such flamboyant performances have seen him play at the Shambhala, Soundwave, Bass Coast Project and Astral Harvest festivals.

By now Peckos will be well known to followers of Lost My Dog. The young Belgian producer released two EPs and a remix for the label in 2009, the highlights being a 5/5 ‘Essential Release’ review from DMC Update, charting in German dance mag DeBug and receiving a chart placing from house legend Tony Humphries which led ‘Sensual Strawberry Soda’ to take off on download store Traxsource.

Highlights on Junia Ovadose’s impressive CV include music for Greenskeepers’ Igloo and G-Swing imprints and DJ Pierre’s Strictly Rhythm sub-label DJP. DJ wise he has performed regularly in New York, all over Europe and at some of the UK’s most respected parties such as Back To Basics, Hard Times and Le Bloc. His music has been aired on Radio 1 by Pete Tong and on other leading UK dance stations Kiss FM and Galaxy FM. His ’10-45 EP’ for Lost My Dog in the autumn is still causing damage so we’re delighted to welcome Junia back.

Roland Nights is a new guise for Danny Stott, another producer who worked closely with LMD in 2009. The future is looking very bright for the Burnley-based beat-maker with two outings on Urbantorque scheduled for early 2010, including a remix of Tom Middleton.

track list:

Call The Boss (Original Mix)

Call The Boss (Neighbour 'Ultraboogie' Remix)
Call The Boss (Peckos 'Play' Remix)
Call The Boss (Junia Ovadose 'Japanese' Remix)
Call The Boss (Roland Nights 'Deed Poll' Remix)

haze is a new fresh artist to join the blaq records comuntiy, living in mexico city, miguel is a very young producer doing his first productions for our dear friends from dialtone we are lucky to capture his second output and bring it to you.
his sound has a very nice edge to it, with lots of atittude and with a style of his own. still naive in many ways but we love this raw element of emotion in his songs, we have been playing this songs and we really like them a lot.
we are very happy to be able to release music from such fresh and young new talents. u can only imagine if this is one of his first releases what this kid will acomplish in the years to come!!

big welcome to haze and his echo culture ep.
emotions translated into sound via laptop and devices. 3 cuts of warm intimacy, blue spectrum of gray sound, shadows of beats, introspective asimilation of grooves, symetric / synthetic

06. Ndi - Rewind
07. Ndi - Perlas

Review:

andres rivero is the creative mind behind Ndi. we released Ndi's first full lenght effort here in blaq records last year. it was also the first full album from one artists that we released and we just love his music, andres is a super nice down to earth mellow guy and his music is just beautiful!.hard to describe and to categorize into one style or genre.

his new album called "tierra" shows a more mature songwriting and he brings a lot of elements to the plate, mixing old school sensibilities with a new school aproach to sound. seven tracks make this full lenght album and it goes from spaced out soundscapades for chilled home listening to some dark gems for the after hour affairs as well as some more clubby dancefloor oriented jams always with a unique aproach to contemporary techno / house beats.

his basslines are filled with groove and his drum programming blends the thin lines between styles going from more breakbeat oriented grooves to more sofisticated 4 to the floor patterns, we are trully proud to have andres as one of our artists.
